Two-Handle Casserole from the Pots&Pans Collection by Alessi

Alessi’s third line of cookware had the ambitious goal of holding its own alongside Sapper’s copper and steel “La Cintura di Orione” series and Giovannoni’s steel “Mami” series with aluminum bottoms—while offering the same high design quality and exceptional functionality at a significantly lower price point. Jasper Morrison took on the challenge of reinterpreting “cookware art.” With his clean, linear, and detail-oriented style, he developed, among other features, a flared rim for pouring, a scale inside the pots, and a lid knob that allows the lid to be lifted even with a wooden spoon. The result was a masterpiece of “Super & Popular Design.”
