Alessi's third cookware series had the ambitious goal of competing with Sapper's copper and steel series “La Cintura di Orione” and Giovannoni’s “Mami” steel series with aluminum bases—all while remaining in a significantly lower price range, without compromising on high design quality and meticulous functionality. Jasper Morrison took on the challenge of reinterpreting “cookware art.” With his clean, linear, and detail-oriented style, he developed, among other features, a flared rim for pouring, a scale inside the pots, and a lid knob that allows the lid to be lifted even with a wooden spoon. The result was a masterpiece of “Super & Popular Design.”
