The very first model that Hans J. Wegner designed exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949 was the CH24, or Wishbone Chair, which has been in continuous production since its introduction in 1950. The backrest and armrests are molded as a single piece and captivate with their unique shape. To give the steam-bent upper section stability and ensure comfortable seating, Wegner developed the characteristic Y-shaped backrest, after which the Wishbone Chair is named. Crawford’s innate sense of color and space blends beautifully with Wegner’s understanding of how a piece of furniture is experienced, and this combination perfectly reflects the times we live in today. This collector’s item is available for a limited time only and comes in one of nine modern yet timeless shades. The carefully curated palette of translucent, non-toxic, water-based paints was selected to lend depth and complexity to the familiar form—and to create atmosphere by allowing the natural beauty of the wood grain to shine through in every design.
