Hard to believe, but this sofa is a grandpa! It saw the light of day back in 1935 and was designed by architect Flemming Lassen.
In the same year it was presented at the competition of the Copenhagen Joiner's Guild. It was subsequently praised in the trade magazine 'The Architect' for its qualities as a small but elegant sofa.
Lassen wanted to create a sofa where people could talk and be comfortable enough to sit and talk for a long time. The armrests were designed to enclose the sitter, creating intimacy and turning the sofa into a cozy place to relax.
The architect found inspiration again and again on his travels through Europe, and he was particularly fond of Italy and France. Flemming Lassen was inspired by both French elegance and modern Italian style, and transferred the trends and his own ideas to a small, upholstered sofa called 'Mingle'.
