“Woven rattan has fascinated me since my childhood, when I spent my time between Sweden and France,” says Mathieu Gustafsson. “In Paris, nearly every bistro had the famous Thonet chairs, while in Stockholm you’d see the classic Palmgren rattan bags from the 1950s, through which you could catch a glimpse of their hidden contents.”
These memories inspired the design of the Air sideboard. The airy transparency of the rattan weave gives the piece a light and understated appearance, deliberately minimizing its visual presence in the room.
