Side table 'Menton'

Menton is actually a small town at the Côte d'Azur right at the border to Italy. Menton' is not the city in the sense of Eileen Gray, but the side table.

Although it was certainly influenced by the location on the French Riviera. Eileen Gray did not want any sensitive luxury furniture for her little house, which stood near the Menton already mentioned.

She worked on a design and what emerged was the 'Menton' - the table.

This is based on an ingenious design: by simply turning the tabletop, the side table quickly becomes a dining table and once it has been cleared away, it becomes a salon table. Clever little guy this 'Menton'.

Like many of the Eileen Gray furniture, this table is also made of chrome-plated tubular steel. The table top is provided with a two-coloured linoleum surface and a solid beech edging.
