In 1930, the Swiss architect Werner Max Moser designed a cantilever chair that differs from other models developed at the same time or earlier abroad by one essential feature.
He separated the upholstered frame from the cantilever frame and emphasized this visually and constructively by making them in two different steel profiles. This allows the furniture to be adjusted in the sitting position, and the loosely suspended frame can be placed upright or at a slight angle on the frame. The seat and back cushions also rest on the spring-loaded seat frame without a fixed connection, underlining the still coherent, light and simple-looking design.
