Office chair 'Paulistano'

At least as influential as Oskar Niemeyer is the Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, who sadly passed away this year. Da Rocha taught for years at the University of São Paulo and was president of the Brazilian Association of Architects.

His first building, the 1958 Club Atletico Paulistano, became a style-setter for São Paulo architecture. He designed the Paulistano cantilever chair for the lounge, which is now part of MoMa's permanent design collection.

But 'Paulistano' is also available as an office chair with a base consisting of four legs with castors. A real design classic that is only just being made again. A simple table and a floor lamp and your office is ready.
