"Wan" Ceiling Light / Wall Sconce by Flos -12 %

The Wan wall and ceiling light by Flos, designed in 2005 by Johanna Grawunder, combines timeless design with modern lighting technology. The name “Wan” comes from Japanese and means “bowl”—a shape that has long symbolized protection, functionality, and cultural diversity. The designer translates this idea into a compact light bowl that blends traditional design with a clean, contemporary aesthetic. The fixture resembles a small design object with an archaeological character and combines a minimalist look with the requirements of modern lighting.

The Wan is designed as a wall or ceiling light and produces focused, direct light. At the same time, the specially designed shade prevents lateral glare and creates a pleasant lighting effect in the room. The luminaire body is made of high-quality aluminum and is available in various finishes. Colored trim rings allow for customization and add subtle accents to the luminaire’s clean design.
