The Danish manufacturer 'Hay' is a guarantor of iconic design products that are functional, distinctive, aesthetic and also affordable. Adorning oneself with well-known designer names was never the first priority for Rolf Hay, the namesake and founder.
I particularly like the fact that the creators behind Hay like to take archetypal products and then interpret them in their skillful way in a new and always with that certain something and very modern. In the case of 'Apex', the idea was to reinterpret the well-known banker's lamp from Art Deco times.
British designer John Tree has combined this archetypal reference with his contemporary, colorful sensibility to create a new, modern table lamp. The folded steel shades form the silhouette of a pointed roof line, which serves as the inspiration for the lamp's name 'Apex'.
And provides a beautiful, graphic contrast to the chrome base. The colorful shade, which can be rotated in all directions, perfectly complements the round base and angled arm.
The functional light with atmospheric character can be perfectly matched to your particular needs.
Fits on the desk like a glove on the eye, but also makes itself as a reading lamp on the bedside table super good.
Quite 'Hay'!
