Lounge chair S35 by 'Thonet'

This comfortable club chair was presented in 1930 at the Paris Grand Palais as a contribution of the Deutscher Werkbund. Breuer, together with Walter Gropius and Herbert Bayer, had organized this premiere of contemporary German furniture production in France.

With 'S 35', he has succeeded in incorporating all the functions of a free-swinging tubular steel chair in the design of a single, continuous line. The result was a doubling of the cantilever effect, as the armrests, which are sprung independently of the seat, balance the swinging of the seat and backrest frame, which protrudes backwards.

The Lounger can now be used not only indoors, but also outdoors. The armrests are made of solid Iroko, an African wood with high density and weather resistance (FSC seal). In its appearance it is similar to teak and has a smooth, even surface. For protection, the mouldings are additionally oiled by 'Thonet'.

Together with the ottoman, this lounger provides a lot of style in your living area, garden or on the terrace.

Also choose the water-repellent seat upholstery as well. For even more comfort when you're relaxing.
