Dancing figure silhouette Mermaid from 'Vitra'

In 1965 Alexander Girard designed a series of atmospheric metal figures that look as if they are dancing: the 'Silhouettes'. One of them is the mermaid, who will soon be able to perform an underwater dance in your living room.

Originally, the 'Silhouettes' were planned for the New York restaurant La Reserve. Placed between the dining tables, they were meant to bring a cheerful expression to the space while creating an atmospheric distance between diners. The restaurant never materialized, but Alexander Girard's plans and drawings fortunately came to life anyway.

In addition to the mermaid, there is also the bull, which is also part of the 'Silhouettes'. Both figures you can find from today with me and for that I wish a great drum roll!
