Eames Elephant in Plywood

Who doesn't love him, the Vitra elephant?

Charles and Ray Eames developed a toy elephant made of plywood in 1945, but it never went into series production. The design pachyderm only managed to overcome this hurdle with ease when it was made of solid-coloured plastic. As a tribute to the original type, 'Vitra' has been producing the 'Eames Elephant' from plywood since 2017.

The friendly looking elephant with its striking large ears is equally suitable as a toy and a design object. A lifelong friendship for young and old.
