Guest & Day Bed 'Roth' -10 %

Soon after his studies, the Swiss architect Alfred Roth came into contact with the Le Corbusier office in Paris. He made a name for himself as a construction manager and architect, and also designed numerous pieces of furniture - strongly influenced by the Bauhaus epoch. The bed with today's numerical designation '455' was already created in 1927. For a long time it was mistakenly referred to as the 'Corbusier bed'. In reality, Alfred Roth had developed the prototype because he needed a sliding bed with 'skids' for a niche.

Over the years the 'Roth bed' was renamed several times and changed again and again. The striking tubular steel brackets and the well-balanced proportioned frame remained untouched. The original feather covering gave way to a contemporary wooden slat grating with adjustable head section.

The additionally available pillow castors turn the bed into a comfortable sofa in no time at all and make the 'Roth bed', manufactured in Switzerland, the ideal and versatile day bed or guest bed when a surprise visit is just around the corner.
