One of my great design loves is probably the Finnish house Artek. They are always the source of Nordic beautiful, refined and above all high-quality furniture and living accessories, which make every design lover's heart beat faster.
The Kiila series by Daniel Rybakken are useful and versatile small pieces of furniture specially designed for corridors and entrances. As a tribute to Alvar Aalto's vision, the Norwegian designer has created a construction system rather than unique pieces. Strong wooden legs and wedge-shaped metal connections that remain visible. Kiila is Finnish for wedge, by the way.
The wardrobe shows this construction principle with its wedge joints and pins with pride. It consists of two double supports made of solid ash wood and a horizontal clothes rail made of drawn sheet steel. The connecting pins also serve as hooks for pockets and caps.
A wardrobe strong enough to wear even heavy winter coats and that lasts a lifetime.
