In 1991, Joaquim Ruiz Millet began writing a novel that he was to finish 10 years later. During this 10-year maturing period, one side of the unpublished manuscript produced a series of objects. That includes this carpet you see here.
The spidery character of the writing is transferred in the broadest sense from the hands to the feet. The paper becomes a carpet tufted from New Zealand wool and the writing becomes an abstract pattern.
