The Lehni brand stands for Swiss quality, precise manufacturing and timeless design. This is also true of the 'Lehni' folding table, designed by Willi Bösiger (or Boesiger, as he used to call himself after his stay in Paris with Le Corbusier). Bösiger, now sadly forgotten, was a Swiss architect and designer of the first order. Like most of Le Corbusier's collaborators, Bösiger remained influenced by the master's work throughout his life.
The 'Lehni' folding table does its best work as a small bistro table or attached to my sofa (similar to Zanotta's Cumano by Castiglioni). It is a 'relic' from the founding days of 'Lehni', when the company was still located near the Zurich Schauspielhaus and, in addition to producing Bösiger's timeless folding table, was primarily active as a specialized tinsmith's shop.
What I like about the folding table is that it is so simple and scores with the high-quality materials. A really cool table up close that demonstrates taste and a sense of style and, by the way, also looks really good when placed next to each other as a duo or trio.
