Hunting Table

The 'Huntig Table' was designed by Børge Mogensen for the Carpenters' Guild in 1950. The exhibition was entitled 'The Hunting Lodge', which is how this table got its name.

But the theme is not only visible in the name, but also in the robustness and the choice of materials of the table, which puts the wood in the centre.

Mogensen's 'Hunting Table' is quite narrow, which makes it particularly suitable for smaller rooms and intimate, cosy gatherings. Designed for everyday use, it has rounded corners and edges in solid wood, typical of the designer who had a great passion for democratic design that was affordable for everyone.

The stability of the table is ensured, among other things, by the use of two diagonal metal struts that connect the table top and the frame in a visually appealing way. Special details that are a feast for the eyes are the tenon joints of the legs, which are held in contrasting wood and emphasize the handcrafted expression of the table.
