Alvar Aaltos 'Tea Trolley 900'

An icon of the famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto - the 900 serving trolley.

The tea trolley was inspired by the British tea culture that his wife Aino and he had encountered through their many travels, as well as the Japanese woodwork and architecture that they admired.

The iconic 900 serving trolley with ceramic tiles and rattan basket was first introduced internationally at the 1937 World's Fair in Paris, a traditionally functionalist piece of furniture with pared-down multicultural references.

Even today, this centerpiece is still manufactured at 'Artek' according to the old designs with great attention to detail. And as it has already proven in many households, the 'Trolley 900' is the perfect companion for the house bar, afternoon tea or simply as the most beautiful side table.

A Finnish design classic that can now come home to you.
