Shelf 'Kaari' with desk

Kaari' is the result of the first collaboration between the Finnish label Artek and the French designers and brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. And I have to say, I'm quite fascinated by the convertible wall shelves that came out of this work.

The shelf with desk is especially practical in small rooms, where you want to have both work surface and storage space together as compactly as possible.

The principle of the 'Kaari' shelves is essentially supported by curved steel strips and solid oak slats. The shelves, which have a black linoleum or melamine surface, rest on and against these.

By the way, the term Kaari means arch in Finnish, which probably refers to the steel bands.
