The Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld designed the Crate Collection in 1934 to make use of surplus wooden crates for transportation. In collaboration with Rietveld Originals and HAY, the Crate Collection has been reissued. Made with respect for the original design, the Crate Dining Table features the same precisely balanced proportions and transparent construction to minimize production costs and optimize the assembly process. Available in two different lengths, with a rectangular table top and diagonal cross struts, the table reflects the designer's architectural principles in its simplicity and spatial design - providing functionality and comfort without taking up space. The Crate Dining Table is made of solid pine wood and finished with a water-based lacquer in various color options.
