Glass as art. Light as atmosphere.
The Lotus table lamp by Carlo Nason—designed in 1969 and reissued by GUBI more than 50 years later—is a masterpiece of Murano glass art. Four nested, hand-blown glass shades form a concentric, flower-like structure that is endlessly fascinating even without light. Crafted using the historic “Pulegoso” technique from the 1920s, in which tiny air bubbles are blown into the glass, each piece takes on a semi-transparent texture, which uniquely enhances depth and light diffusion—making each lamp one-of-a-kind.
When turned on, the Lotus emits a soft, diffused glow without any glare or visible light source—pure ambiance that lends every room a sense of calm and warmth. Only the most experienced Murano glassblowers are capable of creating pieces of this size and complexity. The result is a lamp that is far more than just lighting—it is a work of art.
