In 1956, Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ Eklipta model for the town hall in Rødovre in two different sizes, Ø350 and Ø450 in diameter. They were used as wall lights in the staircases and outside. This was later followed by another version with a diameter of Ø220 for St. Catherine's College in the UK. Arne Jacobsen always preferred the largest model for staircases. Today, the luminaire is used worldwide as the architectural icing on the cake.
