The original table lamp 1227 from 'Anglepoise' is the new brass version of the British design classic from 1935.
The solid, flexible and shapely spring-loaded luminaire - by the way one of the first of its kind - was only slightly changed. It has a three-part frame made of lacquered aluminium with three springs, which is modelled on the human arm and represents a masterpiece of mechanical balance. The weighted base offers maximum stability, while the light beam can be optimally aligned with the help of the round rotating umbrella and the swivel arms.
The design was created by George Cawardine, who until then had actually devised designs for the automotive industry and was intended for use in the work area. Thanks to its timelessly simple design and its flexibility, it has enjoyed great popularity for decades now.
