The Cobra lamp was designed 50 years ago for 'Martinelli Luce' by its founder Elio Martinelli. For this occasion, there is now a special version of 'Cobra', an interpretation by Emiliana Martinelli as a tribute to her father. Made only in the exclusive Midnight Blue colour, the lamp features a series of holes in the cap representing the constellation of the Scorpion, Elio's sign of the zodiac.
The lower body rotates on the steel base below and is connected to the upper body by a central joint that allows 360° rotation. The internal reflector is in white lacquered aluminium.
Designed in 1968, the 'Cobra' is one of the first resin luminaires to be manufactured using a special casting system. The luminaire is characterized by a simple line and a geometric shape. With the rotation of the arm, the reflector assumes a position reminiscent of the head of a cobra ready to fire.
