Light like a silent promise.
The Silk Lantern by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen is a lamp that was designed in 1951 but never produced—until now. GUBI is bringing this rare design to the world for the first time, combining Japanese-inspired lightness with the clarity of Danish modernism. The cylindrical shade made of natural silk diffuses the light into an intimate gradient of brightness and shadow, while walnut veneer rings frame the fabric at the top and bottom, lending the lamp’s lacquered steel structure contour and a floating appearance.
Available as a floor lamp, pendant lamp, and wall sconce, each version carries the same material logic and serene expression into its own dimension. A lamp we’ve been waiting 70 years for—and it was worth the wait.
