Hot Achille LED can be used as a wall or floor lamp. However, the unconventional idea of attaching the light source to a vertically hanging cable gives it a completely different look. The coaxial cable is attached to the ceiling. The reflector with the light source is height-adjustable and rotates within a range of approx. 100 cm. A weight ensures that the cable remains sufficiently taut and power is supplied from below so that no ceiling outlet is required. The curved mounting of the luminaire head creates a graphically appealing outward appearance and at the same time provides the necessary friction that fixes the reflector and light source to the cable, but also makes them flexible. With Hot Achille, Ingo Maurer has taken up the idea of Achille Castiglioni's "Parentesi" design and implemented it anew with low-voltage halogen technology in 1994 - and LED in 2019. Hot Achille LED works best when placed against the wall.
