Light classic 'Bestlite BL4' with brass frame

The iconic 'Bestlite BL4' floor lamp, designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930, was first adopted by workshops and engineering departments of the Royal Air Force due to its great functionality and adjustable arm. Today, with its many finishes, the timeless floor lamp is perfect as a reading light in any modern home you want to add your own unique touch to.

An article in the Architects Journal praising the 'Bestlite' with the title of the first proof of Bauhaus in the UK brought the lamp to the attention of the design conscious. Public demand for the 'Bestlite' lamps soon followed, and when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, the lamps' iconic status was assured.

The 'Bestlite' design remains true to its industrial roots and original design. The 'Bestlite' is in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. Loved by architects, designers and design lovers throughout its long history, 'Bestlite' has now become a contemporary classic.
