Pendant lamp 'Akari 23A'

Like a fir cone, this lamp hangs from the ceiling and radiates a warm and pleasant light.

It is actually a true design classic from the pen of designer Isamu Noguchi and belongs to the Akari lamp series. In 1951, the American-Japanese designer designed the Akari illuminated sculptures - a total of over 100 hand-made models made of Shoji paper. Among them are table lamps, ceiling lamps and floor lamps, like the luminous cone here.

Akari' is the Japanese expression for brightness and light and also means lightness.

This lamp hangs almost like an art object in my bedroom, where it creates a cosy ambience especially in the evening.
