An elegantly curved steel shell that glows from within - that's the Cadmo Terra from Artemide. Created by American designer Karim Rashid, the floor lamp combines flowing shapes with energy-efficient LED technology and immerses interiors in an atmospheric lighting mood.
The body of the luminaire consists of a rolled steel sheet that rises from a circular base made of lacquered stainless steel. Cadmo Terra is equipped with two separately switchable light sources: A dimmable LED in the upper section of the luminaire produces indirect, upward-directed light. The softly diffused light that emerges from the side of the gap in the body comes from an LED reflector lamp inside the steel casing.
The indirect lighting can be continuously adjusted using an integrated dimmer on the luminaire cable. The Cadmo Terra LED is available in either modern white or classic black with a white lacquered interior.
In 2010, the Cadmo Terra LED received the iF Product Design Award and the Good Design Award from the Chicago Museum of Architecture and Design.
