Following “La Cintura di Orione” by Richard Sapper and “Falstaf” by Alessandro Mendini, Alessi entrusted a designer from the new generation with the challenging task of sparking the public’s imagination and exploring the archaic realm of “pottery art.” Stefano Giovannoni, whose style explicitly evokes a poetry of connection, developed his interpretation of ancient terracotta pots.
The warmth of familiar aromas in good, large, round pots “with two handles,” as Catullus described them, finds its contemporary interpretation here in functional and practical stainless steel. The “Mami” series also includes baking dishes and frying pans made of die-cast aluminum with a nonstick coating, a pasta set and a pressure cooker, as well as a cutlery set and high-quality kitchen knives.
