Wooden Doll Mother Fish & Child by Vitra

The 'Wooden Dolls' by Alexander Girard are a large family of wooden figurines depicting human and animal characters. Girard originally made them himself in 1953 for the decoration of his house in Santa Fe.

These originals are in Girard's estate in the Vitra Design Museum and are the inspiration for the current re-edition: true to the original, the many different Wooden Dolls are still made and painted by hand today. And even if the differences are only very subtle, each wooden figure is a unique, individual specimen that only exists once and will give you a lot of pleasure.

Two fish, - a mother with her little one, - are an addition from the animal world for the merry family of the great 'Wooden Dolls'. Aligned horizontally, they stand out from the large group of otherwise standing bodies.

But beware: 'Wooden Dolls' collecting is addictive, my dears!
