My grandfather always had one or something similar in his bedroom. His jacket, the hat and occasionally another piece of clothing hung on it. Since I myself always put the clothes over the same chair, I really appreciate my grandfather's silent servant.
In the late twenties, the Maharajah of Indore commissioned the German architect Eckart Muthesius to furnish his palace. A jewel of Art Deco was created and with it a multitude of furniture and lamps, including the silent servant called Mandu. His elegant appearance with the typical swing of the Art Deco style appears very feminine, but - perhaps precisely for this reason - is often used by gentlemen and their jackets.
The original was that version in chrome. But now 'Mandu' is also available in black or in bronze.
