This chair brings a lot of colour into your home. And at the same time a lot of classic allure.
With the 'Plastic Chairs' Charles and Ray Eames developed the first industrially manufactured chairs made of plastic. The most of the best to the greatest number of people for the least' is how Charles and Ray Eames described one of their central goals as furniture designers. With no other design did they come as close to this ideal as with the 'Plastic Chairs'. The basic idea of a one-piece seat shell shaped to fit the body occupied the designer couple for many years.
The Vitra DAX combines the seat shell of the Eames Armchair with a classic four-legged base and thus shows just one realisation of the conceptually and explicitly multifaceted series from the 1950s. Yet the 'DAX' with its relatively simple appearance is undoubtedly the comfortable all-rounder among the Eames plastic chairs.
The organically shaped shell of the chair can be combined with different bases. There are three variants to choose from.
You can really let off steam when it comes to the colour of the shell: no less than 14 are available. My tip: If you combine several 'Plastic Chairs', for example for a dining table, the play with the colours is really a lot of fun.
