Bar stool 'Earth' made from waste-to-value technology

'Earth Stool' is a round bar stool designed by Danish architect Eva Harlou for the label Mater. The seats are made in collaboration with 'Novo Nordisk' from insulin sticks and coffee bean husks from BKI coffee or waste from 'Carlsberg' beer production.

After years of research and testing with the Danish Technological Institute, 'Mater' has succeeded in processing the waste material and mixing it with post-industrial plastic waste to form a unique composite suitable for press moulding. The Earth Barstool thus demonstrates a waste-to-value technique and a solution to more efficient reuse of corporate resources, which is kind to our planet and generations to come.

And if the whole thing is too gaga for you, choose the seat of this stool in classic Scandinavian design in oak wood.
