Carl Hansen & Søn RF1903R/L Sideways Sofa
The Sideways Sofa - an invitation to conversation
In an age where digital devices threaten to dominate interpersonal communication, the Sideways Sofa offers an equally modern counterpart for face-to-face conversation - and, of course, relaxation. Made in Denmark to a design by award-winning Danish designer Rikke Frost, this unconventional sofa rejects the traditional forward-facing seating position and allows those seated to turn sideways and talk to each other. The design is perfectly in line with Carl Hansen & Søn's DNA, seamlessly blending uncompromising craftsmanship and thoughtful expression. Classic in terms of the materials used and with a distinctly modern shape - the Sideways sofa invites both comfortable relaxation and conversation.

Designer Rikke Frost
Danish designer Rikke Frost has always been interested in combining different craft traditions and types of materials. This is clearly reflected in her design portfolio, where traditional and contemporary design is interpreted in sofas, tables, chairs and lamps using an organic design language. This also applies to the Sideways sofa, Rikke Frost's first collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn. Here, classic materials such as woven paper cord and wood merge with a modern, functional design.
