Warehouse sale: Design classic: 'Paulistano' leather armchair -20 %

At least as influential as Oskar Niemeyer is the Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, who sadly passed away in 2021. Da Rocha taught at the University of São Paulo for many years and was president of the Brazilian Association of Architects.

His first building, the 'Club Atletico Paulistano' from 1958, set the style for São Paulo's architecture. For the lounge of this building, the Brazilian architect designed the Paulistano chair, which is now part of the permanent design collection of the 'MoMa'. And could soon be in your living room!

'Paulistano' is a cantilever chair made from a single bent steel tube. Despite its enormous lightness and sparing use of material, the chair is very comfortable. The seat shell is modeled on the body, the cantilever construction cushions the weight pleasantly. If that doesn't invite you to hang out and sip cocktails ...
