Paper cord rug 'Horizon'

'Woodnotes' is a Finnish design company founded in 1987 by textile designer Ritva Puotila and her son Mikko Puotila. The label is still owned by its founders.

The original concept of 'Woodnotes' products was to combine artistic creativity inspired by the rugged nature of Finland with valuable craftsmanship and advanced technologies, using the basic Finnish materials of wood and paper. 'Woodnotes' is the first company in the world to use paper yarn in a contemporary way in functional textiles. Ritva Puotila wanted to use paper yarn for its properties: to make the most of its unique characteristics, not as a substitute for other materials.

The multi-colored stripes of the Horizon rug are arranged asymmetrically to the length of the rug on the plain background. The width of the striped area is determined by the length of the carpet, but is always at least 80 cm.
