'Hemp' literally turned my head: that's because designer Tanja Kirst's rug collection is handwoven with Italian hemp yarn, and each thread is made up of 50 thin strands spun together and dyed in organic colors. The collection is part of an ongoing project to explore how the well-known hemp plant can be transformed into durable and sustainable woven textiles. The fact that hemp requires little water, can be grown without fertilizers and improves soil structure as it grows, as well as adding nutrients, makes the hemp plant an important component in the move toward more sustainable textile production.
Featuring a flat weave construction with a color and weft effect, this rug is a cozy splash of color in your living room or bedroom - whether placed in front of your closet or under your dining room table. Choose your new favorite from 4 bold colors with pattern and 2 different sizes.
