The 'Lampe de Bureau' was already developed in 1930 by the French engineer and designer Jean Prouvé. And not just like that, but as a working light for the student rooms of the Cité Universitaire de Nancy.
As is typical for the Frenchman, he has used one of his favourite materials and folded a practical, small lamp from sheet steel. It throws a pleasant beam of light, which is perfect for reading and working.
The different colours of the powder coating are based on the original colours and are as timeless today as they were then.
Don't be misled by the name of the lamp, because it also fits perfectly on a shelf or on the bedside table as indirect lighting.
