Artemide Tolomeo Basculante Tavolo table lamp
The Artemide Tolomeo Basculante Tavolo table lamp was presented for the first time in 1987 at the "Euroluce" lamp fair in Italy and was an immediate success. In 1989, this success was confirmed once again and the well-known designers Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina were awarded the Compasso d'Or. Today, the lamp is a bestseller that is being further developed and is available in a growing number of versions. The table lamp impresses with the lightness of its appearance. The long, slender, adjustable arm is made of shiny aluminum. The desk lamp offers great flexibility and freedom of movement, which is also made possible by the ingenious spring balancing system with its joints and brackets made of polished aluminum and the wire cables running over rollers. This is reminiscent of the famous "Anglepoise" from the 1930s, which was the first lamp to use a spring system for greater flexibility. The conical shade, which is available in two different material versions, stands vertically during normal use, regardless of the orientation of the arm. After each adjustment of the arm, it swings back to its original position almost by itself to provide ideal downward light. The first version of the lamp diffuser is made of slightly shiny, light gray silk satin and appears almost white as soon as the lamp is switched on. The other version with the stabilized, natural-coloured shade made of parchment paper creates an extremely warm and cosy light. The beautiful desk lamp is supplied with a shiny aluminum table base. However, this is interchangeable and separately available parts such as a wall bracket, table clamp, screw fastening for the table or a stand for other possible uses can be ordered (not included in the delivery). This classic lamp provides optimum, direct and partially diffused working and reading light and is an eye-catcher in any living or office space. The lamp can be switched on and off directly with a black switch on the lamp head and has a black power cable to match the switch.
