Today we celebrate a Swiss design classic: Kurt Thut's famous foil cabinet, which celebrated its big breakthrough on the international design scene in 1994. It is published and celebrated worldwide. His fellow architect Robert Haussmann says of it: 'What Thut does, Thut does well.' I agree, as I am a big fan of his humble but clever furniture pieces!
The 'Thut Foil Cabinet 385' is a very light looking cabinet with an absolutely contemporary look. With its low weight of 26 kg, it suits a style that is reduced to the essentials.
But thanks to the wooden parts made of natural beech, it also brings a lot of warmth and personality. With its light transparency, it gives a hint of the beautiful things it holds. Nevertheless, the covering made of Dacron, a special canvas, does not give too much away.
