Dutch illustrator LouLou Avenue - whose real name is Liv Ann van der Laan - relies on her natural ability to express emotions through color and form in a series of captivating prints. She is inspired by human expression, music, street style and vintage portrait photography.

Her image 'Stormy Palm' contains a subtle sense of movement accentuated by the sparse blue background. The red lines, which bring the shape of the palm tree to the fore, capture the essence of the palm tree as it moves in the breeze.
