Rectangular mirror 'Nimbus'

5 hours left

Taking a cue from the way a picture or painting is framed, Copenhagen design studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen explored how an entire frame could surround a mirror without compromising the beauty and reflection of the glass. The result is 'Nimbus', a refreshingly simple mirror made of bronzed brass and light-reflecting glass that defines a space with its soothing and refined round shape.

A mirror is not purely functional: since ancient times, they have reflected the style of an era - whether with Baroque flourishes or Gothic arches, or with the simple lines of Bauhaus. The latest interpretation of 'Audo' brings the basics of the mirror into the modern age, but with a mythological twist reflected in its name: In Greek mythology, nimbus was a luminous cloud or corona that often surrounded a deity when on earth.

Design studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen examined the way a painting or image is framed to change the overall expression of the artwork.

The mirror, surrounded by a halo-like ring of polished or burnished brass held by decorative screws, enhances the sense of light and space in a room.
