Stool Corker by Herzog & de Meuron -10 %

Early Läck Friday 🖤

I really had to grin when I saw the stools Corker for the first time. They look like oversized corks, which work wonderfully as seating in their new size.

The witty design comes from Herzog & de Meuron: warm, grounding, at the same time stable and flexible to use - the 'Corker' is one of those universal talents that cut a fine figure in any living area. Whether as additional seating or as a side table.

The 'Corker' originated in London's Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in 2012, when the temporary summer pavilion was designed as a joint project by the architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron and the Chinese artist, designer and architect Ai Weiwei. The stool was part of the overall concept. With inclusion in the 'ClassiCon' collection, a third version was added to the two original versions.

As timeless as the 'Corker' is in function and design, as forward-looking is its material composition: The cork used for production in Portugal comes from local, sustainable forestry, is durable and 100% recyclable. At the same time, the furniture owes its inviting velvety feel to it.
