I have already presented the probably most beautiful salt box in the world to you several times. Now the noble alabaster container has been expanded by another gem from the Volvox studio.
The herb tin Salva is also made of magical alabaster. Long ago, alabaster was formed by the evaporation of salty water from seas that had receded. Today it is found as centner-sized 'eggs' at depths of up to 300 meters, embedded in gypsum.
In addition to the amber-coloured ones, the transparent and snow-white varieties of alabaster in particular, with their matt, porous surfaces, are still reminiscent of their salty origins.
The herb jar was produced in an artisan workshop in Tuscany, in a locality where alabaster has been mined and processed for centuries.
