From today I have some great frying and cooking aids for you in my luggage. They were designed by Sergio Herman for 'Serax' and are simply beautiful pots and pans with the name Surface.
The clever containers are created from enamelled cast iron and were inspired by the barren nature of Zeeland. The rough textures and beautiful imperfections show what is real and what is true, from the deep grey of the mystical North Sea, each piece tells a story.
The glaze layer creates small irregularities that are very much in keeping with the wabi-sabi feel that Sergio Herman intended with this project.
The grill pan is suitable for both the stove and the oven. For example, you can fry first and then put the pan and its contents directly into the oven to continue frying.
