Roman 'In the Queen's Belly'

As a young girl Amal does something unheard of: she beats up her classmate Younes. Her father defends her behaviour and encourages her to assert herself in the world. Nevertheless Amal is shunned by everyone from now on.

And then the father leaves the family. Amal finds refuge with Younes and his mother Shahira, of all people, who are also outsiders. Years later, when the situation escalates and the quarrel with the clique about Raffiq escalates, Amal flees to Kurdistan and goes in search of her father.

Raffiq's friend Younes is unintentionally the focus of attention in her neighborhood. The reason is his mother Shahira, who breaks all the rules through her freedom of movement. Raffiq's thoughts also constantly revolve around Shahira: He is as fascinated as he is repulsed.

When Younes can't stand the situation anymore, he plans to leave. For Raffiq, whose girlfriend Amal also wants to move away, a world collapses. He tries to sabotage their plans. And the question arises what he actually wants to do with his life.
