Winter novel '24 ways home'

In the middle of a snowstorm, Petra and her eleven-year-old niece Charlie arrive in Nyponviken, a small village in Skåne, southern Sweden. They have left their life in Stockholm behind. After the death of Petra's sister, Charlie's mother, they desperately need a fresh start. There is a farm with a small nursery in the village where they hope to find refuge. Viveca, the owner, welcomes them with open arms and offers Petra a job. Slowly, Petra and Charlie get used to their new life and get to know the rest of the villagers. One morning, an Advent calendar arrives at their door. It contains a story - about the village and Lilly, the artist who used to live there. Each door reveals a new detail from her life and also points the way to a special place in Nyponviken. Petra soon realizes that the calendar has much more to tell.Jenny Fagerlund's new book is about how difficult it can be to find your way home - and to realize where and to whom you belong. A wintry novel, sensitive and with characters as if taken from life.
