Isamu Noguchi is my designer of the moment. Almost everyone knows and loves his deeply designed 'Coffee Table', which brings out the best in a glass top on a beautifully curved wooden base. His 'Prismatic Table' is somewhat less well known, but also very iconic. This can just as easily be presented as a work of art in the middle of a room, with its object-like character.
Nochuchi's small, delicate piece of furniture has a particularly strong impact with its purely geometric design language. It is an original, three-legged side table that presents a hexagonal top made of folded aluminum sheet. Noguchi found his inspiration in the traditional Japanese paper folding technique origami.
Made of coated, high-quality aluminum, the table is striking without being obtrusive. It is functionally flawless, purist and absolutely contemporary. A Noguchi, after all!
